Appearance and description of chestnut-billed macaw
The brown-headed macaw is a small parakeet with a body length of about 50 cm and a weight of about 390 g. Both sexes of the brown-headed macaw are colored the same. The main body color is green. The forehead and mandible are brown-black, the nape of the blue. Feather feathers in the wings are blue, shoulders are red. The tail feathers are red-brown, blue at the ends. Around the eyes there is a large undecorated patch of white skin with wrinkles and individual brown feathers. Beak is black, paws are gray. The iris is yellow.

Habitat and life in nature
The species of chestnut-headed macaw lives in Brazil, Bolivia, Panama, and is also introduced in the USA (Florida).
The species lives at an altitude of up to 1,500 meters above sea level. It occurs in the secondary and cleared forest, forest edges and open areas with free-standing trees. In addition, the species can be found in lowland moist forests, swamp forests, palm groves, savannahs.
In the diet of the brown-faced macaw, various types of seeds, pulp of fruits, berries, nuts, flowers and shoots. Sometimes they visit agricultural plantations.
Usually, the brown-headed macaw behaves quite quietly, because it is difficult to notice them. They are found in pairs or in small flocks.

Breeding Macaw
The nesting season of the chestnut-billed macaw in Colombia falls on March - May, in Panama on February - March, in other places on September - December. Chestnut-billed macaws usually nest at high altitudes in cavities and hollows of dead trees. Sometimes nest in colonies.
In the clutch of chestnut-billed macaw, there are usually 2 to 3 eggs that the female incubates for 24 to 26 days.
Chestnut-billed Macaw chicks leave the nest at the age of about 12 weeks. About a month later, their parents feed them.
